The right material for every requirement

We print on all desired and available materials. From the most modern circular PP to wet-strength paper, the right material is available for all requirements. The different PP materials (circular PP, recycled PP and new PP) are a good choice for every type of label and packaging. However, Paperlabel and Paperlabel Gras are only suitable for hanging labels and labels on stick, as they should not be in direct contact with the soil.

In the following you will find a short overview
of the different printing materials.

Circular PP
Upcycled polypropylene
Circular PP
Upcycled polypropylene

New material from recycled economy.
It has received the Circular-Print®-quality mark and therefore stands at the top of sustainable materials.
Savings of approx. 2.200 kg CO2 per ton compared to new PP. This gives Circular PP a better carbon footprint than paper. Since february 2022 this material is carbon neutral.
100 % recyclable.

Completely new PP
Polypropylene (PP)

Material with the best possible qualities. Highest possible quality of print. PP is environmentally neutral. 100 % recyclable. Printed scraps are suitable as raw material for the recycling economy. This means that new PP products are at the beginning of the value chain and get several reuses by upcycling.

Plant labels made from Circular PP
Real circular economy
with Circular PP

Even before the climate debate became widely publicised, we launched our "Circular PP" project in cooperation with renowned research institutions. The goal was to be able to produce new labels again from printed waste. The available results from this research are impressive and have convinced us that a REAL circular economy is the most sensible and sustainable solution to the current challenges in the horticultural industry.

The advantages of Circular PP at a glance
More than
„just recycling“

Conventional recycling processes of printed plastics result in the problem of strongly outgassing and smelling inks & lacquers during the necessary heating. Renner Print Media has succeeded in permanently neutralising these interfering substances in the "compounding process" through interdisciplinary research work. A reprintable material is now created from printed plastics without an intake of virgin material: "Circular PP".

Savings
of 80% CO2

The climate-relevant footprint could be reduced from approx. 2,500 kg CO2/t to less than 500 kg CO2/t, i.e. by more than 80 %, in the production of Circular PP. This is already fully in line with the EU's 2030 targets. Many other materials with a seemingly better image, such as paper, perform significantly worse in this comparison.

100% Recycling
60% PCR Quality

Circular PP is made up of 100% recycled materials, 60% of which is post consumer grade waste. This means, that not only the printed die-cutting scraps - which are generated during our print production - are collected, but also, for example, old posters and polypropylene from consumer waste are processed. Circular PP, on the other hand, is itself 100% recyclable. No new waste is generated.

FAQs on CircularPrint –
You ask, we answer
What does upcycling mean?

Upcycling is the technically and ecologically most valuable form of recycling. New materials are produced from waste materials through 100 % recycling. Possible impurities are neutralised.

What does PCR mean?

PCR = post-consumer recycled materials. These are recycled plastics from household or commercial waste. Waste collection & reprocessing underlie it all.

Can Circular PP be recycled?

Circular PP is 100% recyclable and can be further recirculated.

For which labels can Cicular PP be used?

Circular PP can be used for all types of plant packaging.

What is the visual difference between Circular PP and new material?

The distinguishing feature of Circular PP is a light grey colour tone in contrast to the muted white of new PP, similar to recycled paper, but which enables perfect colour reproduction.

What happens in the compounding process

Compounding processes describe the procedures in plastics technology that enable the preparation of raw materials into a mass that can be further processed. E.g. by melting the polymer or neutralising unwanted components.

What is the advantage of the Circular PP label compared to the Blue Angel?

For products with the Circular PP label, 100% of the material is recycled.

For us at Bionana, sustainability is at the forefront of every decision, and this also applies to the selection of our stick-in labels. Here we use Circular PP from Renner-Print, a great material: it consists of 100% recycled plastic that is fully recyclable again. The labels are made from 100% production waste in a true circular economy. As a result, Circular PP has a better carbon footprint than paper.

DI(FH) Simona Nitschinger, Managing Partner, BIONANA

Renner-Print actively supported us in our search for alternatives to our labels made of new material. After extensive information about the possibilities and the subsequent practical tests in our nursery, our choice fell on Circular-PP.

Our Mission

All life on our planet depends on the presence of our green fellow beings. As printers, designers, photographers and gardeners we combine our skills to inspire for plants. This brings nature and humans together to a certain extent.

Our roots lie in the art of printing, invented by Johann Gutenberg. The soil on which we grow is the gardening industry. We owe our growth to our committed employees. The fruit are enthusiastic customers.

This company exists because hardly any advertising company shares this enthusiasm for plants. It is the combination of gardener, printer, designer, photographer.
